About the event

This student documentary journeys across Turkey’s West Coast, exploring the reception of the key ancient sites of Izmir, Ephesus, Sardis, Pergamon, and Troy. From Izmir’s trade history to the importance of religion at Ephesus, Asia Minor is a colourful interpretation of how the modern-day Mediterranean has grown from its ancient roots, through the perspective of students. The documentary attempts to encourage our audience to question their own perceptions of these fascinating cultures, and bring to the fore the recognition that there is always more to discover.

After the screening, we will host a Q&A where we hope to discuss everything about the project, from production to research to our misadventures on the road! If you are interested in documentary-making, antiquity, or just want to watch fantastic student-made media, come along!
